Hey everyone! I've been doing some research and realized that gardening can be quite challenging and sometimes expensive, which has definitely humbled me a bit. I've dabbled a little in gardening before, mainly just growing flowers, but I'm eager to start a veggie garden that can help my family during tough times or even just to supplement our grocery list.
I have some time and a bit of budget to invest, and I'm okay with learning through some mistakes. I was thinking of starting with herbs, potatoes, onions, carrots, strawberries, or possibly an apple tree. I know my family enjoys these foods, but I'm keen to know which of these are easiest to start with. I live in Kentucky and I have limited space, so I was planning on just a couple of raised beds and maybe a couple of fruit trees. Any advice on what to focus on first?

Make sure your garden gets enough sunlight! Partial sun spots won’t really work for most plants. I know my side yard gets full sun after 1 pm, so that helped my garden flourish!
Lol, I learned about bold text from your comment! Makes things stand out!
Definitely consider starting with herbs! They're perfect for small spaces and can be dried for later use. Plus, if you're growing food sustainably, learning about seed saving for each plant is a smart move. If you're a fan of fresh veggies, lettuce and radishes are really straightforward and grow quickly, too!
Thanks so much for the tips!

Glad to know my spot gets good sun, that should help!
