I'm planning some home renovations and need guidance on what a general contractor (GC) might quote for the following tasks: pulling up carpet and installing hardwood flooring for 800 square feet, adding crown molding and baseboards in three bedrooms, removing wallpaper from one bedroom, and painting four bedrooms plus a small hallway. Honestly, this sounds more suited for a handyperson than a general contractor (GC). You might not need a GC for the entire job since different tasks can often be split up between specialists. It could save you some money too!
Wouldn't I actually need separate pros for the different jobs? Like one for the carpentry, one for the flooring, and another for the painting?
