I received a box from a friend that she mentioned is related to plants, but I'm not quite sure what it is. Can anyone help me identify it? Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place!

Yeah, definitely looks like vermiculite to me too! It's a great addition to soil for succulents and jade plants since it helps with aeration and moisture control.
