I'm really fed up with my grass lawn since it's overrun with weeds and anemone blanda. I'm looking for advice from anyone who's changed out their grass for something else. What did you choose instead? I'm tired of mowing it and just don't like how it looks right now.

I went for pea shingle instead of grass. I've thought about planting creeping thyme, but I need to keep weeds in check. Pebbles make it easy to spot weeds and I can still plant in it. It’s a good compromise for what I want.
My in-laws transformed their yard into a garden with various shrubs and bulbs. Two years in, it's absolutely stunning! You can either keep it low-maintenance with easy-care shrubs or add annuals if you enjoy gardening. Definitely a different approach worth trying!
I got rid of my grass and replaced it with wood chips and pebbles in my small garden. I made a winding path from the house to a corner using wood chips and built raised beds with various plants and a pond. It's low-maintenance and I love how it turned out!
I did something like that too! No lawn at all for me now! I killed off the grass with cardboard for a few months, then turned everything into planting beds. Best decision ever!

Just remember, if you go with something like gravel, weeds can still pop up! In a shrub garden, the bigger plants usually crowd them out better.
