I just picked a bunch of tomatoes from my garden, and they're ripening really quickly! I'm heading out for the weekend and want to know if I can pop them in the fridge to slow down the ripening process, and take them out as needed. What do you think?

Yes, you can refrigerate them, but keep in mind that they might not taste as great as they would if they'd ripened fully on the counter. It's an option if you're worried they might spoil, but it's a second-best choice.
I wouldn't recommend it. While it does slow down ripening, the flavor might suffer, and the texture can become grainy. If possible, let them ripen fully first!
Yes, it's fine if you refrigerate fully ripe tomatoes. Just make sure to take them out ahead of time to bring them back to room temperature if you want to enjoy them fresh. It does help keep fruit flies away, and if you’re using them for cooking, you can use them straight from the fridge. But for those that are almost ripe, be cautious, as they might not ripen well after being refrigerated. Just save those for cooking, and you should be fine!

What about the ones that aren't fully ripe? Can they still go in the fridge?
