Thinking About Buying a 2017 Range Rover Evoque – Any Advice?

Hey everyone! I'm considering a used 2017 Range Rover Evoque that's already racked up 91,000 miles. I'm really hoping to hear from anyone who might have experience with them, especially regarding any major maintenance issues like oil leaks or electronic problems. I've read a lot of mixed reviews online, and I definitely don't want to end up spending a ton on repairs after my purchase. Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!

You’ll definitely be paying more for repairs with a Range Rover. Just to give you an idea, I have a friend who owns a 2018 Discovery, and he pays around £500 for a major service from a non-dealer shop, plus about £200 for tires and up to £600 just for brakes and pads. The Evoque may be a bit cheaper, but still, do your homework on engine types and reliability because they vary a lot. A good warranty might be wise too!

I had roommates in college who drove Range Rovers and it was like a monthly routine to take one of them to the dealership for repairs. Trust me, those repair bills often ran into the hundreds or even thousands. They drive beautifully when they're new, but once they hit the four-year mark, the maintenance costs skyrocket. I'd say stay away unless you want a headache.

Appreciate your input! They do look great, but not sure it's worth the risk.

Honestly, you're probably not going to find many owners that can help you out here. From what I've seen, Range Rovers have a reputation for high maintenance. They have complicated engineering and expensive parts, which means repairs can hit your wallet hard. If you’re worried about the costs upfront, you might want to reconsider this model – it can be a money pit!
