Help Needed: Whirlpool Fridge Making Clicking Noise – Possible Evaporator Fan Issue?

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my Whirlpool fridge (model WRQA59CNKZ, S/N TMB 3576054). Recently, it started making a clicking noise that seems to be coming from a fan. I even watched some YouTube videos and noticed that others have had similar problems. A while back, I used a blow dryer on the freezer vents, which temporarily fixed the issue for a few weeks, leading me to think it might be the evaporator fan. Unfortunately, about a month ago, the fridge stopped keeping the right temperature, and we lost some food. Since we have a newborn, it's crucial for us to keep breast milk in the fridge. I found some simple fixes for evaporator fans on other models on YouTube, but mine looks a bit more complicated inside, and not too many people seem to have had issues with it yet since it's only four years old. Also, my interior light is burned out. My main concerns are the clicking noise and the fridge not cooling properly. I know I could call a professional, but I'm fairly handy and would appreciate any advice you might have!

Definitely try cleaning the back first! The evaporator fan replacement is usually pretty straightforward. There are plenty of YouTube tutorials on it, and if it is just the fan that's causing the noise, you should be able to handle it easily.

I’ve already checked it out, but I don’t see how to access the coils from either the back or the bottom. I think I might be missing a trick here!

I had a similar issue, and it turned out that the cooling coils at the back of the fridge were super dirty. I cleaned them with warm water from a spray bottle, and it fixed my fridge, which has been working fine for the last two years. Good luck with yours!
