How to Handle Oil Stains on a Shared Driveway from Roofing Work?

I share a driveway with my neighbors, and my roofer has parked his van there several times. Now, my neighbors are claiming that the oil stains on their side of the driveway weren't there before. I'm wondering how to address this situation. Should I confront the roofer about it, or just deal with the stains myself? I'm thinking about asking him to come back and power wash it, but maybe that's not necessary?

Honestly, just clean it up yourself. It's not worth starting a feud with your neighbors. A little degreaser and a hose should do the trick!

Agreed, better to keep the peace!

Power washing might be overkill. You could use something like Purple Power or even dish soap. Just put it on, scrub a bit, let it sit for a few, and then rinse it off. It'll fade over time, and it’s not too hard to handle!

If you're looking for a quick fix, grab some oil dry from an auto parts store. It's like kitty litter for oil spills – just spread it over the stain and let it sit for a couple of days. Super cheap and effective!
