Did I ruin my epoxy table by forgetting to sand between layers?

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice. I was working on my epoxy resin wood table and forgot to sand between the first and second layers of epoxy. This is unusual for me since I've always sanded between layers in the past. The first layer is about a quarter inch deep, and the table measures 4-6 inches wide and 3 feet long. Just to clarify, both layers are fully cured now. Am I stuck with a ruined project, or is there a way to fix this?

You might still be okay! It sounds like you have a fully cured layer, which means your second layer could bond fine without sanding. If you decide to keep going, just monitor it and see if you notice any separation later on. If it does become an issue down the line, you could sand it down and reapply a top coat.

It really depends on how long the wait was between your pours. When you sand, you create a mechanical bond, which is super important. But if you poured the second layer before the first was fully cured, you might still have a chemical bond that's strong enough. Since you mentioned it was fully cured, you'll just need to be cautious with your next steps!
