How Can I Patch Up My Dog-Damaged Vinyl Flooring?

Asked By DogLover1234 On

Hey everyone! My dog did a number on a corner of my vinyl sheet flooring in the bathroom, tearing a hole that's about 3 inches wide and a quarter inch deep – I've even exposed the subfloor. Any advice on the best way to patch it up? I really appreciate your help!

One solid approach is to cut a piece from an inconspicuous area of the flooring, like behind the toilet or under the sink. You can then tidy up the edges of the damaged section and use some flooring glue to stick down your patch. It should blend in nicely!

Have you checked if there’s any extra flooring material lying around? If it’s an old sheet, you might not, but it pays to look. Since your dog did some serious damage, if you're considering a quick fix, using some filler could work temporarily until you can redo the bathroom.

I don’t have any extra, but that’s a good idea! Just a filler could help level it out while I figure out a more permanent fix.
