How Can I Automatically Switch Lights to Battery Power When My Generator Stops?

I run a shop using a generator, but I want my lights to switch to battery power automatically when the generator isn't running. The lights are on a separate breaker. Does anyone know of a small automatic switch solution for this, as I've only found options for whole-house applications?

Check out this compact automatic transfer switch I found. It's perfect for smaller setups like what you need. Just make sure it fits your system requirements! [Link to product]

Thanks! I’ve got to look into this; it seems like it might work for my lights.

You could use a hybrid inverter for this setup. They typically have the capability to switch between power sources seamlessly.

You're specifically looking for an auto transfer switch. There are standalone options available, or some inverters come with it built-in. If you want a manual switch, that's a possibility too.
