What Temperature is Safe for Tomato Seedlings to Get Some Sun?

I'm wondering how cold is too cold for tomato seedlings to be outside for a few hours to soak up some sunlight. I want to ensure they aren't harmed. What temperature should I look out for?

I'd suggest not putting them out if it's below 60°F, and make sure there’s no wind initially. Tomatoes can be pretty sensitive, so a gentle start is key.

As a rule of thumb, make sure it's no colder than 40°F. Mine did fine after the last frost without being hardened off, so sometimes you can get lucky.

I usually take mine outside if the temp is at least 55°F or higher. Just keep an eye on the wind, you want to avoid harsh conditions!
