I'm trying to figure out which fasteners to use for a heavy wall-mounted shelving unit I just bought. It comes with Hilti HHD-S fasteners rated up to 1kN (around 225lbs), but my friend swears by the 3/16" Toggler Snaptoggles, which have a higher rating of 265lbs. Given that opinions vary widely online, I need some guidance on which option is more secure for hanging heavy items on drywall. Also, my setup doesn't really allow for mounting on studs, so I'm stuck with anchor choices. Any thoughts?

Make sure to check out the ratings in the specs carefully. The Hilti’s rating is based on certain drywall conditions, whereas the Toggler seems a bit more reliable in standard setups. So if you’re using single-layer drywall, you might want to go with the Toggler this time.
I’ve used both types before, and honestly, both can hold up heavy stuff fine as long as you install them correctly. But the Toggler might be easier to work with if you're already familiar with them.
If you can’t mount to the studs, I’d say both options could work, but I’d lean towards the Hilti anchors because they provide multiple points of contact, which can distribute the weight better. Just remember to space them out evenly!
Exactly, and it’s crucial to follow the instructions for installation. Proper spacing can make a huge difference in how well your setup holds.

Right! Plus, if you're comfortable with the Toggler, stick with what you know. Less hassle during installation!
