I've got a rotted floor joist in my house and I'm wondering if there's a way to fix it just from underneath without having to remove the flooring. Since this isn't my forever home, I'm looking for a quick fix that will hold up until my family is ready to move. Is this feasible?

Yeah, it's a standard way to do it as long as you can access everything from below and the subfloor isn't rotted as well. Just check all those points first before you start!
It’s definitely possible to fix the joist from below by sistering it, but I'd be cautious with a DIY approach if you're not too experienced. You might want to consider getting a pro's opinion first.
You can jack up the rotted joist and sister it with new wood, but just be aware the area might have issues with the subfloor too. If that’s the case, you might need to take up the flooring to sort everything out properly.

Good to know! I’ll think about asking for help before diving in.
