Hey everyone! I recently moved into a new house and replaced some bad landscaping that came with it. There were a lot of invasive plants that were out of control, plus a messy tree that made things look worse. We've planted boxwoods, blue arrow junipers, lilacs, hydrangeas, and azaleas. I'm wondering how long it usually takes for these new plants to mature and start looking their best? Thanks in advance!

Typically, it takes about 2-3 years for new landscaping to really establish itself. The first year they kinda chill, the second year they start to spread out a bit, and by the third year, you should see some significant growth! Just keep in mind to water them well, but not too much, especially in the first few weeks. A good watering routine is 2-3 times a week.
Exactly! And remember, a little bit of fertilizer in moderation can help too.
Absolutely, the growth schedule varies among different plants. Blue arrow junipers tend to grow at a moderate pace, while other plants may be faster or slower. Just remember that patience is key, and avoid heavy nitrogen fertilizers initially since those roots need to get established first!
Yeah, it really depends on the specific plants you have. Generally, 2-3 years is a good estimate. Just try to picture how they'll look when they mature because right now, new landscaping can look a bit bare. It's all about that root growth first! Healthy roots lead to healthy plants, and they need time to develop before the real growth takes off.

Good to know! So I should expect some patience, huh? I might have to grab some mature plants for the instant look while waiting!
