I've been seeing some milder weather lately and I'm curious if it's the right time to move my young begonias outdoors and also plant some zinnia seeds. I know it's usually best to wait until after the frost has passed, but I'm wondering how others decide when to make the jump.

I usually wait until the nighttime temperatures hit around 10°C before planting my begonias; it still feels a bit early for them right now. I'd recommend holding off for a couple more weeks to be safe.
In the Northeast, we typically wait until about the third week of May to put out any tender plants. It's a safer bet to hold off until then.
It really depends on where you live and the size of your plants. Starting a hardening-off process now could help! If you do that, you might be ready to plant them outside by the end of the month.
