Can I Add a Router Lift to the Right Side of My SawStop Without Issues?

I recently bought a SawStop PCS175 with a 52" extension. I'm considering installing a router lift on the right side but I'm concerned because SawStop recommends against it if you're using the integrated mobile base, which I have. I don't quite understand why that is since it seems like the weight of the router lift would be supported by the legs of the RT-TGP router table assembly. Has anyone here tried this setup and run into any problems?

I had a similar setup with the same saw but without the extension (just 36”). I added a router/table/rail combo and didn’t face any issues at all, even with the mobile base. It works fine for me!

Looks like you cut the router into your existing melamine table, right? I noticed the RT-TGP router table add-on is cast—seems like that would provide some solid support. But I'm a bit concerned about potential sagging over time.

Is that the Powertec fence you’re using? How do you like it?

The thing to keep in mind is that when you're using the mobile base, lifting the right side of the saw tilts it, which can lift the extension legs off the ground. If you have a heavy cast iron extension on that side, it can cause balance issues because the legs would drag around instead of lifting up.

Thanks for clarifying that! Now I get it; it sounds like it might be possible if I figure out a way to manage the weight when I need to move it.
