What to Do if My New Sconces Are Too Small for the Junction Box?

I need some help figuring out a solution for my new wall sconces. The junction boxes in my wall are the standard 3-inch round ones, which my current sconces fit perfectly. However, the new sconces I want are much smaller, only about 2.36 inches wide, with mounting holes that are just 1.5 inches apart. This means they won't cover the junction box fully, and I'm concerned about how to mount them securely and aesthetically. Has anyone faced similar issues? Are there adapters, backplates, or any other solutions that could help without making it look bad? I'd really appreciate any tips!

Have you checked if the manufacturer offers a larger backplate to cover the junction box? Sometimes, they provide options that are designed to fit their fixtures. If not, you could try making one yourself! It might be a straightforward DIY project.

Yeah, I’m thinking about how to create one myself since I can't find a pre-made option.
