Hey everyone! I'm working on my Eagle Scout project, and I'm planning to build rolling planters for an elementary school. I'm a bit stuck on what type of wood and screws to use, as well as how to design them. I need the planters to be 2x4 feet and 2x6 feet in size, with a height that's comfortable for both kids and adults to use. Ideally, they should have 4 to 6 locking caster wheels. Any suggestions or recommendations would really help me out!

You’re going to want to gather some basic tools like screws, glue, sandpaper, and sealants. It's super important to pay attention to drainage when designing your planters so air can get in and water doesn’t just sit at the bottom. I haven’t built planters myself, but those tips should get you started really well!
Cedar is a great wood choice for planters since you can let it weather naturally without needing a finish. Just check online for some construction plans; you should be able to find plenty that outline fasteners and more detailed info you’ll need for your project.
Thanks for the rec!
Don't forget to choose casters that can withstand the weather, since these planters will be outside. You want them to be durable enough to handle rain and sun exposure.

My dad definitely has all the tools.
