I recently bought the DCST972 attachment capable trimmer and can't get enough of it—seriously, it's a powerhouse with amazing battery life using the 9Ah battery! Now, I'm curious about the 18-inch DCCS672 chainsaw. How do you think the battery life holds up with that saw, especially when using the same 9Ah battery? I have gas saws for backup, but I'm really into the reduced vibration that comes with electric options. I appreciate any insights you can share!

I've run my 18-inch chainsaw with a 9Ah battery and it held up pretty well! It lasted around 2 hours on continuous use while cutting about 10-inch tulip poplar. I did end up needing a second battery for the last 20 or so minutes though, so having a backup is a good idea if you're planning on a longer session.
On my saw, I only get about 15 minutes of heavy cutting on larger logs before the battery gets too hot. Just a heads up, it might work better for lighter jobs to avoid battery issues.
It really depends on what you’re planning to use it for! Are you mainly limbing, felling trees, or bucking? The type of wood and its size also plays a big role. If you’re cutting mostly softwoods like pine, it should be easier on the battery compared to hardwoods like oak.

Honestly, I'm expecting to do a mix, but mostly trimming down trees no larger than 10 inches. I'll be working with a variety of woods including oak, maple, and pine.
