How can I keep outdoor cats out of my yard?

I recently discovered that a cat, which might be a stray, killed two baby rabbits in my backyard. I really dislike outdoor cats because they can be harmful to nature. While I don't want to hurt them or remove someone's pet, I need a way to keep this cat out of my yard. Are there any products or methods that can help?

A motion sensor water sprinkler could do the trick! It’s designed to startle and annoy cats when they come too close. Definitely worth trying!

I had issues with tomcats spraying in my yard. I mixed lemon and orange oil into some carrier oil and sprayed it around. Cats seem to hate citrus smells. After a week, it really helped! Just be patient since it might take a little time.

You might want to reach out to your local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) group. They might have suggestions or could help with the cat issue. I've heard they can provide traps for these situations, but check if it's a neighbor's cat first—it might be a good idea to avoid any neighborly drama!

I totally understand the concern. I’d hate to catch someone's pet too! It's definitely a balancing act because you want to protect wildlife without upsetting anyone.
