Hey everyone! A while back, I remodeled my bathroom and opted for a pedestal sink without an overflow drain. Unfortunately, the overflow hole is now filled with water, and while it doesn't smell yet, I'd really like to get that water out before it becomes a problem. I'm not looking to replace the drain since that would mean removing the entire sink from the wall, which seems like too much hassle. I'm considering the idea of using flexible tubing to siphon it out, but that sounds pretty unappealing. Any alternative suggestions for getting the water out of that tight space? It's really cramped in there, about 1/4 inch clearance. Thanks!

You know, the best long-term fix is definitely replacing the drain with the right one. But if you really want to avoid that right now, a shop vac could definitely help you suck the water out. Just make sure to fix that drain later!
If you're looking for a quick solution, check out a manual gravel cleaner at a pet store. You can trim the tubing to fit, and it works great for small spaces like yours!
Thanks for the tip! That sounds much easier than I expected.

Totally agree! A shop vac is your best bet here. Plus, it’s just a temporary fix, so you really should tackle the drain issue when you can.
