Can I Use Sikaflex to Seal Air Gaps in My Exposed Brick Wall?

I live in a 100+ year old brick row house, and I've recently exposed a brick wall during some construction work. I'm seeing daylight through a hole that seems like it was drilled into the exterior at some point, and I want to know if I can use Sikaflex mortar fix to plug that hole from the inside. The wall has a lot of small gaps in the mortar, which I'm fine with, but I really want to block off this one larger entry point for air and bugs before I cover the wall up again.

Yeah, Sikaflex should do the trick! If possible, try to pump enough into the hole so it seeps out the other side or apply it from both sides to ensure a good seal.

Just a heads up! On their SDS, it says the max sealant depth is only 1/2 inch. If you go deeper than that, it might not cure right and could sag.

Using MH Ready Patch could work well here! What’s best is to put some into the middle of the gap first, let that set, and then do both the inside and outside. Let everything cure properly afterward.

Thanks! I’ve actually changed my plans a bit: I’m having some work done outside, and the contractor will seal it from that side.
