Hey everyone! I'm finally on board with upgrading our bedroom, and we're starting from scratch with new paint and flooring – the works! The centerpiece is going to be a new mattress, specifically a hybrid one since I tend to sleep hot and need better airflow than all-foam choices. My partner is a side sleeper with shoulder issues, while I'm mostly a back sleeper but sometimes flip to my stomach. I weigh about 220lbs and she's around 150lbs.
We have a budget of around $1000 for a queen mattress, but I'm willing to spend more for something durable that lasts. I really need good motion isolation because my partner gets up several times a night, along with solid edge support since I sit on the edge to put my socks on, and I don't want to sink! Temperature regulation is a must because I do sleep hot, and durability is important too – I'm tired of mattresses sagging after just a few years.
I've been researching hybrid mattresses for a couple of weeks now and it's been a bit overwhelming. Can someone break down what actually goes inside these mattresses? Have any of you recently bought a hybrid mattress that you absolutely love? What brands should I look into? Are there any upcoming Memorial Day sales worth waiting for?

For a good choice, take a look at the Bear Star Hybrid. It’s just a bit over your budget but totally worth it! I suggest checking out Sleepline's review of it; they detail all the components nicely, and it really helped me narrow down my own options.
We got an Avocado organic hybrid mattress from Costco back in February, and it’s been a game changer for us! Our weights and sleeping habits are similar to yours, and we’re both extremely comfortable on it. I think you’d be really happy with that choice.
I can totally relate! I have a lot of back and shoulder issues, and I highly recommend Nest Bedding. I compared it with Tempur and even a custom-made one that cost me about $4000. I snagged a king for about $1200 on sale, and it’s worth every penny! If you find it too soft or hard, they send you a new insert, which is super handy. Really, I’d rate it a 10/10!
Have you thought about the Purple hybrid mattress? It’s around $1600 for a queen, which is over your budget, but their grid design is perfect for hot sleepers. I used to wake up sweating with my last mattress, but this one keeps me cool! The motion isolation is decent, though the edge support could be improved a bit.

Yeah, I’ve seen Sleepline's reviews, and they do a great job of breaking things down! Definitely check them out for more insight.
