Hey everyone! I'm a weekend woodworker and I currently have a pretty underwhelming dust collector. I usually work on one tool at a time, which includes my planer, jointer, and table saw. After struggling with my current setup, I impulsively ordered the Jet JCDC 1.5. However, I've been having second thoughts after discovering the Oneida Mini Gorilla, which seems to be a better option for my needs. The Jet is already on the way, but I can refuse the shipment for a refund. My question is: should I go for the Oneida instead? Is there a noticeable difference in performance between these two dust collectors? I'm particularly drawn to the HEPA filter and the fact that Oneida is made in America, but I'm also considering if the Jet would suffice. Any advice or experiences with these dust collectors would be greatly appreciated!

I have the Jet dust collector as well, and it hasn’t let me down! It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for reliability. I'm leaning towards keeping it because it’s tough to justify splurging on the Oneida when I could put that money into other tools I need, like a bandsaw or a new sander.
Honestly, I wouldn’t stress too much about it. The Jet is perfectly fine for what you’re doing! I’ve had mine for a while now, and it works great for my shop needs without any major issues.
