Hey everyone! I'm on a mission to organize my garage, looking for ways to hang up tools like rakes and extension cords on the walls. The store-bought solutions can be really pricey or just don't fit my needs. Has anyone out there built their own storage using wood? I'm referring to something like this product: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gladiator-48-in-W-Garage-Wall-Storage-GearWall-Panel-2-Pack-GAWP042PBY/204648992

There’s a balance between ease of use and cost. I’ve just attached a sheet of OSB to the studs, and you can screw anything into it. This allows for complete flexibility in how you organize, plus you can paint it if you want a little style!
You should really look into the French cleat system — it’s super popular for garage storage right now. There are tons of YouTube tutorials and guides that'll help you get started!
I built a French cleat wall using about 6 sheets of plywood. It's a bit of an investment, but super functional! If you're trying to save, check out local places for plywood instead of Home Depot; I found a spot that has ¾ inch sheets for around $27, which is way better than their prices!
That sounds like a great deal! I'll definitely check for similar places because I need enough wood for my own project.

Love that idea! A painted OSB wall sounds both practical and stylish!
