I just got the DCG416 FlexVolt Advantage Grinder and I currently have two 4AH batteries and one 5AH. I use these for my impact, drill, and oscillating tool. I'm thinking about whether to invest in a FlexVolt 9AH or a regular XR 10AH battery. My main goal is to get more runtime so I don't have to switch and charge batteries as often. Will the FlexVolt give me better runtime, or is it just more powerful compared to the regular 20V XR battery? Alternatively, I'm also considering getting a 6AH FlexVolt and a 6AH 20V. Any advice?

The 9AH FlexVolt is a solid choice for your grinder. For tools that draw a lot of power, like yours, it’s worth the investment. I initially considered a 10AH battery, but I found out that the cells aren't the best for high current tools. Plus, you'll notice a significant weight difference. My go-to now is the 8AH PowerPack; it’s lighter yet still delivers a power boost similar to the FlexVolt.
If you're looking for power, definitely go for the 9AH FlexVolt. It'll provide more current output, which is ideal for high-draw tools like grinders. Even though it has slightly less capacity than the 10AH XR, it'll perform better with your grinder and help prolong the battery's life. Just remember that tools like circular saws and grinders really benefit from larger batteries.

I totally agree! If you're using a FlexVolt battery, you might as well get a FlexVolt tool. I used to prefer the 6AH batteries but have switched to the 8AH PowerPack too—they perform great!
