I'm looking for advice on how to carve a comfort bird without using any power tools since I don't own a band saw or coping saw. I have some wood already, and while I could buy blanks online, I'd prefer to use what I have. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, just go for it! Comfort birds mostly take a chunk out of a rectangle, and using any kind of saw isn't going to cut down your time significantly enough to wait around for tools. Just get started with what you've got!
If you have a hand saw, that’s a great tool to cut off larger sections of wood. For getting rid of extra material without power tools, you might want to invest in a dremel later on. But for now, the hand saw is your best option if you want to avoid power tools altogether. Good luck!

Actually, I'm okay with using power tools for the big stuff. But thanks for the suggestion!
