I set a calendar reminder for every Wednesday to check my plants. I try to avoid overwatering, and I also use a moisture meter to gauge the soil moisture. Though some say they're not super accurate, it helps a lot more than guessing!
I love succulents specifically because they can handle some neglect. It's fascinating to see them perk up after a good soak! I'm a bit scatterbrained when it comes to tracking my plants due to ADHD, so I keep all my succulents on a grow rack with lights. It's hard to forget them when I pass by multiple times a day. I’ve figured out to only water when the soil is completely dry and I can visibly see they're thirsty. I’ve definitely learned from my overwatering mistakes in the past!
If you notice that your succulent's leaves are soft or wrinkled, that usually means they need some water. I've managed my large collection this way for about 6-7 years, and I’ve hardly lost any plants, especially to overwatering.
Totally agree! I also check by feel; if they're soft, they need water, and if they're firm, they're good to go! 923; but I only have a few plants, so it's easier for me.
