I've been thinking about my collection of 20-30 houseplants and wondering if they're happier in the wild compared to being in their pots at home. I can't help but feel like I'm keeping them captive, like I'm forcing them to thrive in an artificial environment. Are they lonely or are they just making the best of it? Anyone else feel this way, or am I just overthinking things?

Honestly, I feel more like the captive here! I can’t leave the house for more than a couple of days without worrying about my plants. They have me wrapped around their little leaves!
Haha, I get that feeling! But hey, you could make the same argument for pets, right? They might want to roam free, but they seem to adjust to home life just fine. I think both plants and animals find their own way to cope with being in a controlled environment.
I totally get where you're coming from! You might just have a lot of empathy for your plants. It's like how we think about pets; sure, they could be happier outside, but they're adapting to their situation. Maybe our plants are too — just living their best lives with what they have!

That's a good point! It's all about adaptation, I suppose.
