I'm considering installing a new interior door for a bedroom in my rental property. The current door swings outward, and I'm thinking it might be better to have it swing inward. However, to accomplish this, I'd need to build a large landing that measures about 3 feet, which adds some cost and could change the layout and overall look of the room. I'm not a fan of the outward swing, but I'm uncertain if the change is truly worth it. What do you all think?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother making that change in a rental. It's probably not worth the expense and effort unless the door is really impacting your ability to rent it out. If it's a rental, you do want to keep costs down.
If you’re just looking to change the door's swing and not do a full remodel, maybe consider installing a pocket door instead? That way, you won't need to mess with the landing. But like others said, in a rental, there are likely better upgrades to invest in first.
Switching to an inward swing is nice, but ask yourself if it’ll really make that big of a difference for potential renters. If the door being outward isn't directly causing issues in renting the place, I’d say save your money for something that’ll give you a better return on investment.
