Has Anyone Had Issues With Milwaukee’s Warranty for Batteries?

I recently sent in a Milwaukee M12 5.0 battery for warranty because it was unbalanced. The charger showed it as green, but it just wouldn't work in any of my tools, including the fan and flashlights. The battery practically looked brand new since I only use it occasionally. I didn't want to mess with rebalancing it myself since it was still under warranty. However, to my surprise, my warranty claim was denied, even though it was only a few months past the warranty period, and I included proof of purchase. I've been a loyal Milwaukee user for over ten years, but I'm beginning to consider other brands due to their warranty process. Has anyone else had success getting a replacement for an unbalanced battery under warranty?

I can empathize with you. I've been using Milwaukee for years, and my experiences with their warranty have been hit or miss. Like, sometimes they deny claims that seem valid. I had two air compressors rejected due to 'suspected misuse'. If the battery really was in the warranty period, you might want to ask for a manager next time. Just a thought!

Thanks for the tip! It's just frustrating when all you want is a straightforward warranty process. I really thought I followed all the steps correctly.

Yeah, sometimes it helps to be persistent. Don't let them brush you off!

It's frustrating, but I get where you're coming from! I've actually found Harbor Freight's warranty process to be way better than Milwaukee's. They seem to handle returns without question, even for heavily used items. It's sad to say, but if they're denying your claim with a valid purchase, it really highlights their customer service issues.

I totally agree! Their warranty policies seem to be getting worse. I've had similar issues where claims got denied for silly reasons, and it really makes you think about switching.

Yeah, I had luck with Harbor Freight, too. No questions asked!

That's unfortunate to hear! In my experience, Milwaukee's warranty is usually pretty reliable as long as you go to an authorized repair center. I had one tool that was definitely past its warranty, but they took care of it without much hassle. Maybe it helps to build a rapport with the staff? A little friendliness can go a long way!
