What was your first succulent and did it survive?

I'm curious about everyone's first experience with succulents! My very first succulent was an Echeveria 'Cats Claw,' which unfortunately didn't make it. But I didn't give up and got a new one that's thriving now. How about you all? What was your first succulent and did it survive?

My first succulent was my mom’s jade plant, which she got from her father when I was born. It went through some tough stages under my care since I wasn't sure how to care for it at first, but I've learned a lot since then! I hope to pass it down to my kids someday. So, it definitely survived!

My first succulent was an Echeveria ‘Pulidonis E. Walther,’ but sadly it died after just three months because I overwatered it. I’m still on the hunt for another one to try again!

Overwatering is a common mistake! Don't worry, it happened to a lot of us. You'll get the hang of it. Good luck with your next attempt!

I had a Gasteria as my first succulent, and I’m happy to say she's still growing strong today! I totally recommend them if you're looking for something easy to care for.
