Why Are There Rust Stains in My Bathtub and How Can I Prevent Them?

I've been noticing rust stains in my bathtub ever since last winter, and it's become a real hassle to clean it every month. I'm wondering what might be causing these stains and if there's anything I can do to minimize them going forward. Any tips or advice?

It sounds like you might be dealing with rusty water, or it could be from lack of ventilation during the winter. If moisture builds up in your bathroom, it can lead to stains from something like Serratia marcescens, which thrives in damp conditions. Just making sure your bathroom has good airflow could help a lot!

I totally get your frustration! We use a product called "Iron Out" for rust stains in our bathroom, and it's been a game changer. It removes rust stains really well. For prevention, I recommend looking into some sealants or rust-resistant treatments for your bathtub.
