Hey everyone! I just moved into a house that was built in the 60s, and I'm dealing with metal window frames that are really scratched up and don't look presentable no matter how much I scrub them. I'm on a budget and can't afford to replace them completely. I'm hoping to cover them up with something like vinyl or paint—I'm leaning towards a simple white color, nothing fancy. Any advice on how to achieve this would be super helpful since I'm new to home improvement! Thanks a ton!

I agree with the prep advice! Without seeing your specific frames, it’s hard to say for sure, but usually, a good primer and a durable exterior paint will do the trick for outside frames. For the inside, you might get away with a regular paint as long as it's suitable for metal. Just make sure to follow the instructions for the best results!
You can absolutely paint metal frames! Just make sure you prep them properly—clean the surface well, then use a good primer before applying paint. What’s important is knowing if you’re dealing with interior or exterior frames, as that might change the type of paint you should use. Definitely post a pic if you can for more specific tips!
