How Long Before It’s Safe to Plant After Dog Poop in the Yard?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to create vegetable beds in a part of my yard but I'm concerned about the dog poop situation. Once I keep my dogs away from that area, how long do you think it will take before I can safely eat anything grown there? Is a year enough, or would you suggest two years? I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this! Thanks! ?

First off, do you regularly pick up after your dogs? If you clean up all the dog poop, you could technically plant right away. Just make sure to turn the soil well! If you're worried about it, just wash the veggies before eating.

That totally makes sense! I've had my dogs sneak into the veggie patch more than a few times, and it's a bit nerve-wracking.
