Hi everyone! I'm currently working on fixing up a century home and need some advice on choosing an oscillating saw or multi-tool that suits my needs. I'm petite and still building my strength, so I need something that's powerful but not too heavy to handle. I've got a few tools already, including a battery-operated pink box drill that I love. I also have a corded Skil reciprocating saw, which I find a bit too heavy, and a Wen compact beveling circular saw, though it gets really hot after use, raising concerns about its durability. I'm about to tackle a big project on 18 windows, and I also have some drywall work ahead. I'm looking for a recommendation for a reliable oscillating saw that balances power and ease of use. If you're prepared to go with cordless, look at maintaining your current drill's brand if they have a corresponding oscillating saw option. It's usually easier to stay within the same brand for batteries and accessories. Though I know you mentioned that the drill brand doesn't have an oscillating tool, it's something worth checking out for future tools since it can streamline your setup!
I've been really happy with my Rockwell AW400 F80 Sonicrafter. It's lightweight yet powerful enough for most jobs and comes with a nice carry bag and blades too! I've used it for various projects and it’s held up really well over the years. Definitely gives you the oomph you need without being too heavy to handle!
