Why is my kitchen sink draining so slowly?

I've got a single drain kitchen sink with a garbage disposal and an RO filter system, but it drains extremely slowly. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the plumbing. Here's a link to a photo of the setup: [https://ibb.co/k2PYCw2h](https://ibb.co/k2PYCw2h).

Have you checked the P-trap for any blockages? It might be a good idea to remove it and take a look. Sometimes that's where the clog hides. Also, if it’s a new installation, I wouldn't expect it to be blocked already, but it’s worth checking!

Not yet, but that’s probably where I should have started. I’ll check it tomorrow when I get home from work and let you know what I find!

I noticed your P-trap looks a bit high; typically, it's lower than the disposal's bottom. You should definitely remove it and check for any clogs. Also, it seems like your dishwasher might not have a high loop, which can also affect drainage.

Good call on the P-trap! I wasn’t sure about its placement. I’ll look into it and check for blockages. What’s a high loop, by the way? I’ll check that out too!

Does the sink drain any faster when you turn on the garbage disposal? Sometimes that can help push things through, but if it's still slow, there may be other issues at play.

No, unfortunately, it doesn’t drain faster even with the disposal on.
