Totally feel you on the Lorapetalum. I tried to grow those too and they went downhill super quickly. We had the same soil conditions as you. Super frustrating!
But here’s a lesson learned: soil pH really matters, especially for plants like heathers! I didn’t pay attention and lost quite a few. It’s a real game changer if you get it right!

I had issues with my irises. I planted them too deep and just watched them sit there without flowering. Definitely learned the hard way to split those clumps. Also, my wisteria is a bit of a mystery too. I have no idea how to train it—they say it’s easy, but I’m struggling! At least I’ve got a variety of plants growing, it’s been quite the adventure learning what works.
