Best Cucumber Varieties for Quick Growth and Mildew Resistance

I'm planning to start a garden this spring after not having one for years due to health issues related to needing a double lung transplant. I'm specifically looking for cucumber varieties that are quick to harvest, pest-resistant, and suitable for Michigan's cooler growing season. Can anyone recommend cucumbers that are great for sandwiches and salads?

I suggest trying Marketmore cucumbers! They handle some less-than-ideal weather and have great disease resistance, which is useful. Wishing you a healthy growing season after everything you've been through!

Consider going for hybrids like Corinto or Quirk. They tend to have the best disease resistance. Also, if you can, choose a parthenocarpic variety so you don’t need to worry about fertilization. Growing them on a trellis makes harvesting easier, and starting them indoors can help you get a jump on the growing season!

Armenian cucumbers are super quick, taking about 55 days to grow. They actually belong to the squash family but have a cucumber-like taste and texture. Perfect for salads!

Check out China Jade cucumbers! They grow quickly, self-pollinate, and have solid resistance to powdery mildew. Plus, they taste amazing! Definitely worth a try.
