How Can I Reduce Humidity in My Bathroom?

I've noticed that my bathroom has become quite humid since we moved in about 18 months ago. We have a fan that runs at maximum capacity, but it doesn't seem to help much. I'm looking for any tips or ideas on how to improve airflow and lower the humidity levels in the space. Thanks!

Have you been running the fan continuously during and for at least 30 minutes after your showers? It's crucial that the fan is installed correctly with the right size ducting, and it should be vented outside. If you check the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of your fan, that might give you more insights on its effectiveness.

Yes, the fan runs from when we start showering until the next morning. I think the CFM is in the low 100s, and we recently had the ducting updated.

Have you thought about just leaving the door open after you shower? I hardly use my fan and find that the humidity goes down pretty quickly that way.

I do leave the door open after showers, but it doesn't seem to make a big difference.

It might help to get a bigger fan, and if it's not too cold, crack a window open for better airflow. That could help disperse the humid air more effectively.

Unfortunately, in this freezing weather, it’s hard to crack a window!
