Should I Choose the Dewalt 12V 601 Impact Driver or the 801 Screwdriver?

Hey everyone! I'm an electrician currently using the 20V line, but I'm thinking about picking up something a bit smaller for rough-in and finishing work. Between the 12V impact driver (the 601) and the screwdriver (the 801), which one would you recommend?

I think the 801 is definitely the way to go! It's super powerful for its size; it can countersink #10 screws without breaking a sweat. Sure, the 601 is a nice little tool, but if you need something reliable for driving screws, the 801 outperforms it by a long shot. If you can swing it, you might as well grab both since they’re affordable!

Awesome, thanks for the insight! I found a combo kit with the impact driver and drill for $199 CAD. What do you think?

It really depends on what you need! The impact driver is fantastic for heavy-duty work, while the screwdriver gives you more control for delicate jobs. If you're looking at a variety of tasks, consider the DCD703 installation driver too. It offers more versatility with multiple chucks for all sorts of jobs!
