I just picked up a Venus Fly Trap, and I'm a bit confused about how to feed it. I know that it needs to stay moist and love the sunshine, but do I need to put insects in every trap or just feed it every few weeks? I'm having trouble finding clear info online on this topic.

These plants are pretty picky! They thrive outdoors in direct sunlight and need to be kept in a constantly moist environment, ideally sitting in a bowl of rain or distilled water. Regular water can really harm them. They also should be planted in pure sphagnum moss or a similar nutrient-free substrate. It's best to feed them a mealworm about once a month, but avoid triggering the traps excessively.
It's true! Venus Fly Traps can get a lot of their nutrients from photosynthesis. Catching insects is just a bonus for them, so I’d say let it catch bugs naturally instead.

You don't really have to feed your Venus Fly Trap manually unless you really want to (maybe for fun or to watch it snap!). They can manage pretty well on their own without extra feeding.
My plant care guide suggests it enjoys some tiny insects, but honestly, I struggle to find any in my apartment!
