Hey everyone! I just moved into my fiancé's grandmother's house, which hasn't seen much garden work in years except for yearly mulching. I'm really eager to create a beautiful garden full of flowers and veggies, but I need your help identifying the plants already in the flower beds that surround this old house. There are some plants coming back every year, and while I want to keep some, I'm not sure which ones I should pull up to make room for new ones. I've posted pictures of the plants in the comments—any help would be super appreciated!

From the first image, it looks like you've got some daylilies on the left and peonies on the right. In the second image, I think you’ve captured some daffodils. The fourth image shows hellebores, or Lenten roses—those are lovely! If you use the Plantnet app, it can really help you with identifying plants too!
Yeah, I’ve used Plantnet before, and it worked well for me!
I see some daffodils, a Japanese maple, and hostas in that last image. Also, the little shrub in one of the photos looks like a boxwood. If you're not sure about keeping any of these, definitely let them bloom first this spring; that’ll help you decide!
Also keep an eye on growth patterns; some might surprise you in how well they fit into your new garden!
