I'm trying to set up a reliable power backup at my home in the suburbs for both short and long-term outages. Right now, I have a Jackery 1000V2 paired with a 200W folding solar panel and a small dual fuel inverter generator that mainly charges the Jackery on cloudy days. My focus is on keeping my chest freezer running, along with some lights, a fan, and charging phones. I'm okay forgoing a TV or microwave during an outage.

Initially, I thought about buying a second Jackery, but I've become interested in a DIY solar solution. I've just purchased 4 x 100W Renogy solar panels, and I understand I need a solar charge controller, a battery, and a power inverter.

I'm looking at 12V 100Ah LifePo4 lithium batteries priced around $150 each. Are these suitable for my setup, and is the price fair? I'd like recommendations for a compatible solar charge controller and power inverter that can work with my 4 panels and eventually allow for adding more batteries. Additionally, should I worry about the batteries not being used for long periods? I'm open to any advice or corrections if I'm off track. Cheers!
