I'm considering whether it's worth it to install a DIY irrigation system, like soaker hoses or drip hoses, instead of just using a traditional sprinkler in my garden. I moved in last summer and found watering to be a laborious task, especially with a large main garden and several side gardens and planters to manage. Last year, we simply used a sprinkler which was a hassle. I'd like something more automatic, maybe a system with a timer or an easy way to turn it on and off. Is putting in an irrigation system a good idea? Also, I'll be planting vegetables like garlic, potatoes, carrots, beets, beans, and squash, so will that make a difference?
