How to Build a Removable Mini Lending Library Post?

I'm trying to create a mini lending library in my yard, but I want it to be removable during the winter months when it might not be used due to snow and bad weather. I'm looking for solid ideas on how to install a 4x4 post that can be taken out easily without too much hassle. I want the post to be sturdy and not wobble, but I also want to avoid a massive installation process every season. I have a budget of around $100 and I'm open to creative solutions, even welding something if necessary. Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could also consider using a removable anchor system like this one I found online. It allows you to securely lock your post in place but still take it out easily when you need to. Just make sure to keep it low-profile so you can cover it when it’s not in use!

How about burying a piece of 4" SCH40 PVC pipe in the ground? You can secure it a couple of feet deep and then trim your 4x4 post a bit to fit snugly inside. When winter comes, just cap the PVC with a test cap to keep the moisture out, and it should be pretty easy to pull out when you need to!

One option could be to install a concrete footer with bolt threads for your post. This way, the anchoring is solid, but you can easily attach and detach the post when needed. You could even consider having the library section be removable and swap it with something like a solar light during the off-season. Just a thought!

Thanks for the suggestion! I like the idea of swapping it with a solar light during the off months. I want to avoid trouble when we travel, so being able to take it out completely would be ideal.
