I've been living off-grid for 25 years and my solar setup is starting to show its age. I'm thinking it's time for a complete overhaul and could use some recommendations on inverters, charge controllers, solar panels, and batteries. My home's power needs are quite low for a 4-bedroom, 2-bath house since I heat with a wood stove and use propane for most appliances. Currently, I have 10 solar panels (170W each) on a custom tracker and two 48V inverters along with a 40A charge controller and 8 old 6V batteries. Due to wear, my panels are only outputting about half of their rated capacity, and a couple have completely failed. I want to keep using my tracker and am considering moving my inverters and batteries indoors to help with temperature regulation, especially for newer Lithium/LiFePO4 batteries.
