I handle all my vehicle maintenance at home, and I'm wondering if I should invest in both a 3/8" and a 1/2" stubby impact wrench. Would the adapter between the two be sufficient for my power needs, or is there a real benefit to owning both sizes?

It really depends on how often you use both sizes of sockets. If you find yourself using them frequently, having both may be helpful. But if you're mostly using one size, the adapter could do the trick just fine.
It might matter if you’re using different platforms like M18 and M12. If that's the case, then having both could be a good idea!
From what I see in YouTube reviews, there's not a huge difference between 3/8" and 1/2" in performance. I went for the 3/8" because I got a socket set that came with a Milwaukee kit, so that definitely influenced my choice!
