Hey everyone! I recently adopted a snake plant after moving into a new condo and I got some questions. I've got east-facing windows only, and I've heard that while snake plants prefer bright indirect light, they don't do well with direct sunlight. If I place it in a spot where it gets a little bit of morning sun but remains indirect for most of the day, would that be harmful to the plant? I keep hearing different things about how strict the "no direct sunlight" rule really is. Any advice would be super helpful, especially since I gave up my garden for this new place and want to make sure I take great care of my indoor plants!

Honestly, I think you're good to go! My brother-in-law has his snake plant in direct west light during the evenings, and that thing is massive. If yours only gets some morning sun, it should be just fine! Just make sure to check for any signs of it getting scorched.
From what I’ve heard, the "no direct sunlight" warning can be a bit strict. In many climates, snake plants actually thrive in full sun, especially in southern areas. I’ve had success with mine in east-facing windows where they get some direct light in the morning, and they’ve done really well there! Bright, indirect light is definitely what snake plants love! If yours only catches a bit of morning sunlight, that’s still considered indirect for the most part. I have a snake plant that I accidentally left in direct sunlight one time and let me tell you, it didn't go well, so definitely be careful with that. But the morning light you’re describing sounds perfect!
